Official Rules

  1. Restricted Categories: An invigilator will be used for all restricted categories and closed divisions, per the NDCA rulebook.
  2. Solo Exhibition, Cabaret & Formation: No solo exhibition is to exceed 2:20 min. Music must be on CDs or thumb drives. Critique and Score will be given on Solo Exhibition Routines.
  3. Pro/Am Senior Dance Scholarships. Open to Pro/Am Couples. The amateur must be at least 61 years old. These will be unisex events with no syllabus restrictions.
  4. Pro/Am Closed Multidance: These are unisex competitions with 5 age divisions. A minimum of 1 set of single dance entries must be entered in the same style & level in order to qualify for each multi-dance event entered.
  5. All Pro/Am Scholarship Prize Money will automatically be awarded to the Amateur.
  6. ALL CLOSED DIVISIONS WILL BE INVIGILATED USING THE CURRENT NDCA LIST OF ELEMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS. PENALTIES MAY BE GIVEN WITHOUT WARNING FOR ANY SYLLABUS INFRACTIONS!
  7. Level & Age restrictions: In CLOSED divisions of “Pro/Am Single Dance Freestyle Competitions” Pro/Am Student Dancers may enter a maximum of three (3) consecutive skill levels. Students may compete in no more than 2 age levels. In OPEN divisions of “Pro/Am Single Dance Freestyle Competitions, ” Pro/Am student dancers may enter as many levels as they wish. Students may submit entries in completely different levels in the different dance styles.
  8. Amateur Events: Syllabus (Closed Single and Multi-Dances) Amateur Couples are restricted to syllabus material. There are no restrictions in the Adult Amateur Novice, Pre-Champ, or Championship divisions.
  9. Top Teacher Awards: To qualify a teacher must submit a minimum of 60 entries. Point System: Amateur Couple entries in Multi dance competitions do NOT count toward any Top Teacher prizes or bonuses. Student/Student Freestyle and Solo Entries do NOT count toward Top Teacher awards however they WILL count for Top Teacher Bonus Money. All entries must be paid in full and danced to count toward Top Teacher.
  10. Top Teacher Pot of Gold rules: This money is paid in ADDITION to Top Teacher Prize Money.
  11. Entry Deadline: The organizers cannot accept responsibility for the accuracy of entries submitted after the deadline date. Any payments made after the deadline must be in the form of cash, cashier’s check, or money order.
  12. Cancellations & Refunds: The deadline for cancellation refunds without penalty is two (2) weeks prior to the event. A letter requesting a refund of payments must follow cancellations. All refunds will be made 30 days following the event. No refunds will be made if cancellation is made within two (2) weeks of the event. Canceled entries taken at the event cannot be substituted by another entry. There are no refunds or exchanges on general admission tickets.
  13. Registration Requirements: All Dancers competitors, Amateur and Amateur Novice, Pre-Champ, and Championship competitors are required to register with the National Dance Council of America (NDCA).   14. DEADLINE is February 20th, 2024. Entries submitted after the deadline will be accepted on a space-available basis.
